For the past seven years I've been running various online businesses - first building my own Websites such as Match-Marks.com, RomanceBiz.com, Donuts2Go.com, GreenJobs101.com

There are several good, legitimate, ways of making a lot of money online (and sadly a lot of scams too) but very few can stack up to the potential of creating and franchising copies of your own (or other people's) successful Websites.

In fact, according to a new study from CyberSource Corp.,
49% of the big merchants now accept orders from English speaking India, and 52% are accepting orders from China. Out of the
15 countries included in the study, the following are the percentages of U.S. and Canadian merchants that are currently accepting international orders in each country:
U.K. (87%), Germany (73%), France (68%), Australia (68%), Japan (68%),
Spain (66%), Mexico (66%), Italy (65%), Brazil (55%), Hong Kong (55%),
Singapore (53%), South Korea (53%), China (52%), Taiwan (50%), India (49%).
So as you can see, the big retailers are moving into the global online marketplace in a big way and there's no reason that small online business owners shouldn't as well. The only difference is, the big boys have the resources to accept international payments and ship orders directly to global customers that small and medium sized online business owner's typically can't reach - at least until now.
For small and medium sized online business owner's, a better business model is to franchise or license your online business to someone who will sell and distribute your products locally using the Website content and marketing tools you provide. In a nut shell, it's much easier and financially safer for you to deal with one customer (i.e. your franchisee) in each country than having many global customers that you would have to serve directly.

So by now you're probably wondering just what a "Franchised Website" is and how is it any different from all the Private Label Reseller rights packages you see online all the time? Well let's start with a few definitions:
Franchise: A form of business organization in which a firm which already has a successful product or service (the franchisor) enters into a continuing contractual relationship with other businesses (franchisees) operating under the franchisor's brand name and usually with the franchisor's guidance, in exchange for a fee.
Private Label Reseller: A licensing agreement where the owner of a product or service (the licensor) allows another company (the licensee) to sell the product under the licensee's brand name, rather than under the licensor's brand.
Now on the surface these two methods of gaining access to other people's products and Website content may seem similar, but here's the major difference: With Private Label Reseller
agreements you pay the owner a one-time fixed amount licensing fee, and for that you receive a copy of the owner's product and their Website's content that you can modify to look like it's your own business. The downside is, there's typically no exclusivity clause in these types of deals and you'll soon discover that there are dozens of competitors out there with copies of the exact same Website as yours!
Alternatively, with a Website Franchise deal, in exchange for agreeing to pay an on-going royalty fee, the franchise receives an exclusive distribution territory and access to all future product and Website content enhancements developed by the franchisor. In addition, because you sell the product under the same brand name as the franchisor, you also benefit from any advertising and promotional activities the franchisor undertakes. For example, do you think anyone in the UK or Australia knows who owns their local McDonalds franchise? Of course not, to them it's just McDonalds, a global brand.
